This Week's Fit Plan

Roo makes it fun.
Incorporating fitness into my life and schedule hasn't always been easy. I struggled with finding time, making time, and committing time to my fitness. I would end up telling myself on Sunday evening, in preparation for the week ahead "Be at gym by 5, do this workout, burn this many calories, be home by this time". But that didn't work for me.

What works for me is creating something new and different each week.
So I do.

You can't (and shouldn't) do the same thing for weeks and weeks on end. Not only does it get boring, it's unrealistic, and it usually keeps you from progressing and from staying enthusiastic about your fitness goals.

So I'm going to share what I do each week. I was hoping to get a link widget so others could post their exercise plans, but I haven't been able to get my hands on one just yet.

  1. Wow, amiga, I wish I had an ounce of the organization and self-discipline you possess! I just ended up joining a gym (crossfit) where they come up with the workouts for you.

However, you've totally inspired me to try planning out our weekly meals in advance! I'm going to enjoy not going to the grocery store every-other day this week... I'll let you know how it goes.

  2. ha. ha. hahahaha! Some days, I look at my plan, and I decide to eat an extra breakfast instead. :)

As for crossfit, that stuff is intense- good for you, you brave soul. Lots of plyo work! I'll be weaving some in next week because it helps me with running. Box jumps. Oh my.

And yes, I would love to know how the meal plan goes!

  3. I can't wait to get a dog! My fiance and I have talked about getting one once we find our new house. My cousin swears it is her workout secret!
Her dog loves runs and so does she :)
Until then..... running at the gym and weight/strength training will have to do for me.
I'm thinking about getting back into Zumba..... it's so much fun!

  4. It really is the best thing! I do so much more walking now that I have her. Unfortunately, she's not the best runner. She likes trotting and stopping. Our walks usually turn into 'carries' at some point...which is pretty embarassing if I'm in the center of town. While I'm sure cradling a 35 pound dog in my arms is great for toning, it's not exactly the look I was going for when I headed out for the walk. :) But they are the best!
